Anxiety and Related
Disorders
Treatment for Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias, and other related disorders.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The emphasis is on changing distorted thinking and problematic behavior patterns. Exposure therapies are considered subtypes of CBT.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD is a common psychiatric condition characterized by intrusive, distressing thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) aimed at reducing that distress.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is considered the "gold standard" treatment for OCD and has been found to be extremely effective in reducing symptoms and improving quality of life. Principles of mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can be useful additions to ERP work.
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Treatment for PTSD resulting from a range of traumatic incidences including combat trauma, sexual assault/rape, physical assaults, robberies/gunshot wounds, car accidents, natural disasters, and other accidents.
Prolonged Exposure
(PE)
PE is a form of CBT that helps people who have experienced a trauma to gradually confront distressing memories, feelings, and situations. PE has been shown to be very effective in reducing PTSD symptoms and improving functioning.
